What an amazing place you’ve created here. We truly enjoyed our stay — especially your warmth and hospitality. We felt genuinely welcome.
Thank you for the beautiful walks, the fun evenings with games and pool, and the meaningful conversations around the campfire. We have great respect for what you’ve built here for yourselves — you’ve turned this place into a little paradise.
It’s wonderful to wake up to the sounds of birds, turkeys, chickens, roosters, owls and the cuckoo. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to be.
We also really appreciated how you helped us find our way around Albania — that was so helpful. We’ve had deep, heartfelt conversations that made us feel truly connected.

On my solo road trip adventure with my Peugeot 107, I met Wouter Klaassen through the dive school in Vrsar. He told me about your place in Albania, and that’s how we got in touch via Facebook.
During my travels, I rarely make plans and just go with the flow. But visiting you was definitely something I wanted to do. We had such an immediate, wonderful connection! It was so lovely to chat with you in Dutch about all sorts of things in life, and I had an amazing time in the area with you. Even though I also managed to eat fantastically in Berat… I think I’ll have to come back here again…

Autumn has begun, but the sun is shining like a warm summer day. Freerk and I are on a road trip through Italy, etc., and Albania by car. We spent a few wonderful days with Vera & Erwin, two peers with a (sometimes) shared past. What hospitable people they are! They can also cook deliciously and love to share their stories with us, and of course the music, often very familiar.
But, alas, we must leave this lovely stay behind. Vera & Erwin, thank you for everything and much success with all your beautiful plans. Warm regards,"

Hello Erwin & Vera,
Although our caravan entrance didn’t go entirely smoothly, we ended up on a lovely spot and were warmly welcomed with raki and water from the well. When Erwin and I discovered we were both from Vlaardingen, we enjoyed reminiscing about our youth, pubs, and familiar people. It turned out that Erwin knew my brother Ruben from café ‘d’Ouwe Stoep’, as well as my old neighbor Gerard.
When we also realized that Sam & Erwin shared a love for the same old rockers, we swayed along to The Weeping Song, without shedding a tear (well, maybe a little) (or was it another beautiful song?).
John Cale & Tom Waits marked the start of a barbecue that lasted the rest of the evening, accompanied by plenty of white wine (including local country wine). My son Liam and his friend were also there, it was all very cozy.
With somewhat weary heads, we visited Berat the next day, and all the haze melted away like snow in the sun (34 degrees).
Alongside familiar bird sounds, we heard the Hoopoe (!), Bullfinch, and an owl in the distance. We enjoyed the lovely scent of lavender, admired pomegranate bushes/trees, and cardoons. It was wonderful!

What a beautiful spot you have here! It was such a fun surprise to randomly click on a campsite on Google Maps and end up meeting fellow Dutch people :-)
We really got to relax here: surrounded by crickets, Diesel & Daisy, and enjoying a good book—it was a perfect way to end our holiday. After the little incident at 8:00 in the morning (plenty of adrenaline for the rest of the day), we learned one thing: 'relax, relax' ;-)
